External Fire Resisting Door Blanks.
FD30 door blanks that will resist a fully developed fire for half an hour.
The door blanks can be worked to incorporate glazing apertures and receive a variety of decorative finishes including paint, veneer or plastic laminate.
Available in a choice of two sizes:-
- 2135 x 915 x 44mm
- 2440 x 1220 x 44mm
NB - The final door will only perform to the rating claimed for it if installed rigorously to the Global Assessment.

Construction Specification:
PROTECH comprises a tri-layer core faced with 4mm exterior grade hardwood plywood. (Exterior glue lines).
Size Adjustment: - Leaves may be reduced in height and width without restriction, providing the leaf is re-lipped
Glazing: - Up to 1.08 m² of glazing per leaf is approved for Sentry PROTECH (all configurations). Apertures must not be less than 100mm from any door edge. Multiple apertures are acceptable up to the maximum approved total area, with a minimum dimension of 80mm between apertures. The aperture shape is not restricted, providing the intumescent material and beads are proven to be compatible with that shape.
Approved glasses include: Pyroshield., Pyran, Pyroguard, Pyrostop, Pyrobel and Pyrodur.
Approved proprietary glazing systems are: - Lorient MAP Tape, Flexible Figure 1 and System 36, Pyroglaze 30, Firestrip 30, Therm-A-Strip, Fireglaze 30 and Halspan 30.
Acoustic Performance: - Sentry ProTech 30 has achieved 36 dB in testing.
Door frames: - Softwood is approved in minimum density 510 kg/m3 in a minimum section of 70 x 32mm after rebating / profiling.
U Value: - The thermal performance of PROTECH evaluated with softwood door frame section 70 x 32, in flush door format, in accordance with B.S.EN ISO 10077-2: 2003, performed in an Approved Document L compliant configuration is:- 1.8 W/m2K Report Reference CU14027-3 refers.
Door edge lippings: - 6mm – 12mm square or 6 – 12mm rounded (maximum 2mm profiling) hardwood (minimum density 640 kg/m3) are required to all edges.
Overpanels: - Overpanels are permitted in all approved configurations providing they incorporate a transom of a minimum specification to that stated for door frames.
